The trans-Siberian Railway is a very crucial part of a massive Russian railway network. It is known for its safe and affordable services. An overview of 3 main routes:

Moscow to Vladivostok: The Rossiya (Russia, train number 2 eastbound, train 1 westbound) leaves Moscow every 2nd day for its 6- night journey to Vladivostok. This is the longest train journey of about 9,259 km or 5,752 miles. The one-way fare of this journey in the summer month will cost you around $640 the price may vary during the season. This train has a 1st class compartment called Spalny wagon and 2nd class compartment called Kupe, open- plan bunks called platskartny and a restaurant car. From Vladivostok, you can take a ferry to South Korea & Japan which will take about 2 nights.

Other two routes to china from Moscow:
Although there are other two branches one is the Trans-Mongolian line or Trans-Manchurian line. These are two direct trains each week that run between Moscow and Beijing, train 3/4 via Mongolia using Chinese coaches and train 19/20 Vostok via Manchuria using Russian coaches.

Moscow to Beijing via Mongolia: This is the most interesting Trans-Siberian route you can enjoy. The Trans-Mongolian is a weekly train leaves for Beijing form Mongolia every Tuesday night. It's a 7,621km long journey which takes 6 nights to complete. It crosses Siberia, cuts across Mongolia and the Gobi desert, then enters China.



Moscow to Beijing via Manchurian: Its a weekly train that leaves Moscow on Saturday nights for Beijing via Manchurian covers 8,986Km in 6 days. Again in trans-Manchurian, there are 1st class compartments called spalny wagon and 2nd class compartments called kupĂ©. Prices are similar to the Chinese train.
